Information and Insights Adviser

This is a fixed-term role to cover maternity leave until the 31st of October 2027. The successful post holder will work two days per week which is 14.8 hours per week (40% FTE). This is a student facing role and you will be predominantly working on campus, however blended work from home is available.

The Role
The Student Success Unit is responsible for developing and supporting the delivery of an outstanding and distinctive student experience so that students have a high-quality University experience. As part of Student Success, the Careers Service supports all students and recent graduates towards a positive graduate outcome.
As Information and Insights Adviser, you will be part of a team of colleagues within the Careers Service, collectively responsible for ensuring our current students and recent graduates have access to the best possible information and opportunities to support them in their future employability.
You will work with undergraduate and postgraduate students from across all subject disciplines, as well as recent graduates. You will provide 1:1 careers information and advice to students and graduates to support their progression into the job market, further study and self-employment.
You will work closely with employers and other colleagues within the Careers Service and be both internally and externally facing, carrying out research and accessing information directly from a broad range of industry organisations (employers, business networks, professional bodies etc), to provide insightful information to our current students and recent graduates to support them in their career exploration.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide information services to current students and recent graduates via a range of different and adaptable methods. This includes in person and online 1:1 interactions, group presentations and workshops, email enquiries, and web-based information and resources.
- Research and provide insightful information to our current students and recent graduates to support them in their career exploration, including the option of self-employment or business start-up. Ensure that information includes global resources and that there is focussed and tailored support for international students.
- In liaison with your manager and team, identify, support and lead on agreed projects that develop and improve our offer to students.
Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent.
