The Information Studies PhD programme from Long Island University (LIU) graduates contribute to theoretical and operational research in existing and new fields, and are equipped to fill the expanding need for information managers, researchers and faculty members in the broad, interdisciplinary field of information studies.

Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
We are not aware of any specific GRE, GMAT or GPA grading score requirements for this programme.
English Requirements
TOEFL iBT score of 100 or above is required. The test can be taken at a test center or at home. The test measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The score refers to the total score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading), each subject has a range of 0 - 30.

- Official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate course work
- Three letters of recommendation
- Personal Statement that addresses the reason you are interested in pursuing graduate work in this area of study.
- A statement of research/inquiry outlining the reasons for pursuing a doctoral degree, and a description of the proposed area of study and research
- A writing sample of a published work or other scholarly writing
- A full curriculum vitae/resume
