Your opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Salesforce Services, the Information Systems Analyst will be part of a collaborative and innovative team within Student Information Systems (SIS), Information Technology Services (ITS), focused on delivering high-quality, student-centred technology solutions. This role supports and enhances the University’s Student Advising Service, built on the Salesforce platform, along with related systems that contribute to student success. Working in a cross-functional environment that includes developers, analysts, administrators, and institutional stakeholders, the incumbent will contribute to the continuous improvement and evolution of enterprise applications using established methodologies, including Agile practices.
The successful candidate will lead and participate in discovery sessions and workshops to gather, analyze, and document business requirements. They will translate stakeholder needs into functional specifications and user stories, conduct process and gap analyses, support solution design discussions, and contribute to effort estimation and planning activities. The role involves close collaboration with technical team members to ensure that proposed solutions are aligned with business objectives, institutional policies, and system capabilities, while maintaining comprehensive documentation to support transparency and knowledge transfer.
The successful candidate will also participate in system testing, user acceptance activities, training development, and post-implementation support to ensure the successful adoption of new and enhanced functionality. In addition to core business analysis responsibilities, the role includes developing and applying foundational Salesforce administration skills to support configuration, reporting, and ongoing platform optimization. Through this work, the Information Systems Analyst will help strengthen the reliability, usability, and effectiveness of systems that directly support academic advising and the broader student experience at the University.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing needs and contributing to the development of business systems
- Analyzing and documenting business requirements
- Developing and revising business methods that support administrative workflow and objectives
- Developing and implementing application and/or system testing plans and scenarios
- Keeping well-informed on policies, procedures, regulations and new technology
- Developing technical application implementation plans
- Analyzing existing service and process procedures and recommending changes
- Responding to service requests in a timely fashion
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years working in post secondary education.
- Minimum five years working with or supporting enterprise level student information or curriculum support systems.
- Minimum five years experience in business or systems analysis practices including requirements gathering and analysis, gap analysis, process analysis, and creating implementation plans.
- Experience with the use of business analysistools (e.g., MS Excel Pivot tables, MS Visio).
- Experience in producing system and user documentation.
- Experience working in cross functional development and implementation teams including developers, user experience designers, business analysts and business owners/stakeholders.
- Experience working with Agile development practice.
- Strong communication skills; able to present requirements, concepts and procedures to a diverse audience.

- Familiarity with Jira or other project and task management applications.
- Familiarity with Kuali Curriculum Management.
- Familiarity with workflow management tools.
- Understanding of the evolving nature of higher education.
- Experience in writing and executing queries and procedures in sql.
- Familiarity with Service Now or other client support systems.
- Familiarity with ROSI, particularly course and program management functions.
