Injury Care and Prevention Specialist
Job Summary
Contributes to the prevention, acute care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries within recreational programs. Provides medical coverage of athletic activities, advises on the prevention and care of athletic injuries, team-teaches athletic training classes, and assists in the daily operation of a clinical space under leader supervision.
Responsibilities
- Performs injury evaluations and makes skilled assessment of injuries
- Performs treatments with various appropriate modalities including ultrasound, ESTEM, ice, etc.
- Performs application of various preventative taping and bracing procedures
- Performs administration of therapeutic and preventive exercise protocols
- Provides acute and critical care coverage for club sports home games, including off-campus home locations, and supports clinical evaluation/rehabilitation care hours. May provide coverage for Intramural games
- Communicates effectively with athletes to educate about injuries, rehabilitation, and exercise protocols
- Documents clinical care, injury notes, and provides administrative support in HIPPA-compliant software databases appropriately
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, or related field.
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
NATABOC Certification
Possess or eligibility to obtain and maintain a Georgia state licensure within thirty (30) days of hire
First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Required Experience
One (1) year of relevant experience.
