The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is dedicated to high quality medical student, resident, and fellow education, excellence in patient care, and advancing the science in psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences through clinical trials and ongoing collaborative research. The department supports clinical care and career development in multiple disciplines, including general psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and neuromodulation including electroconvulsive therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation.
The College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is recruiting for an Inpatient Psychiatrist at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The final rank and title of the appointment will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. Medical Director and leadership opportunities may be available for qualified candidates. Those with experience in electroconvulsive therapy are encouraged to apply.
Essential Functions
- Direct patient care in an inpatient setting.
- Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Opportunity for administrative and leadership roles, participation in quality improvement, peer supervision, and formal mentorship.
- Opportunities for clinical research at various UC Health facilities, hospitals, and other local health care systems.
Minimum Requirements
Prior to effective date of appointment, must have all of the following:
- MD/DO or equivalent degree.
- Ohio Medical License.
- Completion of a 4-year Psychiatry residency.
- Board eligible/board certified in General Psychiatry.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
