Institute Director
The ROBERT-DEBRÉ CHILD BRAIN INSTITUTE (Institut Robert-Debré du Cerveau de l’Enfant – ICE) is a public research institute founded in 2024, dedicated to developing new understanding and innovative approaches to the care and education of children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Its mission is to address cognitive vulnerabilities in children and improve the lives of those affected by neurodevelopmental disorders, learning difficulties, and other cognitive challenges, along with their families. It brings together clinical teams from the Robert-Debré Hospital (AP-HP) and multidisciplinary research from basic to clinical and human sciences.
With 400 researchers in 20 laboratories, ICE covers fields from genetics and preclinical studies to integrated cognitive and educational research, collaborating with public and industrial partners, patient associations, and stakeholders.
The Institute will be housed in a new, eco-labeled building opening in 2027, featuring an auditorium, living lab, start-up incubator, clinical research center, wet labs, and an IRM 3T platform.
Supported by Paris University Hospital (AP-HP), University Paris Cité, Inserm, Pasteur Institute, and CEA, it holds the Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire (IHU) label and benefits from a 10-year endowment.
The Director, a scientist (PhD or MD-PhD), must demonstrate strong scientific leadership, an outstanding track record, and international recognition. The Director manages the Institute, supported by a collegial board, and handles recruitment, research development, innovation, and partnerships.

Candidate Requirements:
- Proven track record of outstanding research and world-class reputation
- Extensive international experience
- Leadership, team building, and management skills
- Successful recruitment of faculty
- Experience in translational and participative research, technology transfer, and funding
- Ability to define strategic vision, manage organizations, and build partnerships
- Commitment to integrity, ethical leadership, and teaching
