This is a non-tenure track 9-month faculty position. Primary duties will include teaching undergraduate and master's courses (15 credit hours per semester) in the field of Criminal Justice. The program seeks a candidate who can teach a variety of core courses at the undergraduate level, with opportunities to teach elective and master's courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Candidates must be able to deliver content in various formats, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid. Flexibility in scheduling is required, with availability for morning, afternoon, evening, and/or weekend classes. Duties also include serving on departmental, college, and university committees. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

The Program in Criminal Justice is housed within the Department of Social Sciences, which is within the College of Arts and Sciences. For more information, please visit our website at https://www.tamiu.edu/coas/dss/index.shtml.

Required Qualifications

We desire candidates who are committed to undergraduate and graduate education and are ready to teach a variety of Criminal Justice courses at the undergraduate and masters levels. Experience teaching classes in multiple modalities (face-to-face, online, and hybrid) is preferred. We strongly encourage candidates with prior experience teaching at an institution of higher education.

We offer competitive salaries and a benefits package including health insurance, retirement benefits, and life insurance. Additional pay is available for summer teaching. Financial support for professional development opportunities, such as attending academic conferences, is also provided. Moving expenses are covered in whole or in part by the university.
