Instructional Support Technician III Physical Sciences

Under the technical direction of the Program Dean for Physical Sciences, the Instructional Support Technician prepares multiple laboratories or classrooms following specified instructions for Chemistry, General Science, Geology, and Physics classes. Assists with the design, construction, fabrication, and/or modification of equipment, modules, and experiments.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Works in consultation with faculty/instructional administrator to design, construct, modify or rebuild equipment, modules, and experiments.
• Coordinates the support activities of many laboratories.
• Provides work direction for student helpers, work study students and casual staff.
• Orders departmental supplies and equipment and instructional materials.
• Maintains and inventories equipment, materials, supplies.
• May be required to handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials following DEQ protocols.
