Instructor/Assistant Professor - Aviation Sciences - Tenure Track
Job Description
- Teach up to 12 credits in the fall and spring semesters for a total of no more than 24 credits of regularly scheduled courses, or the equivalent, over an academic year.
- Fulfill ongoing department curriculum needs of both a maintenance and developmental nature.
- Provide leadership and service to academic and professional societies through roles in governance, editorial work, conference coordination, and committee participation to support their effective and impactful operation.
- Support university operations through committee service and consultation with campus and community stakeholders.
- Assist students with course advising, consulting, and individual mentoring.
- Encourage and support student involvement in student organizations and internships.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research, writing, and publication appropriate to the faculty member's discipline or interdisciplinary work.
Short Job Description
- Bachelor's degree in an aviation-related field from an accredited institution.
- FAA pilot certification to include a minimum ATP or equivalent.
- Significant related industry experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Airline Flight Operations
- Corporate/Business Aviation Flight Operations
- Safety
- Security
- Human Factors
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
