Position Summary

Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide didactic and/or laboratory instruction in the Baccalaureate program; provide clinical supervision at multiple sites with varied shifts.
  • Develop curriculum, syllabi and course materials; participate in program development and review.
  • Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
  • Maintain office hours for student advisement and remediation; participate in recruitment activities, community service, and professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • Current RRT credential, Baccalaureate degree in Respiratory Therapy, Cardiorespiratory Sciences, education, or equivalent (related) field, from a regionally accredited College or University plus clinical experience. OR
  • Current RRT credential, Associate's degree from a CoARC accredited program and a minimum of 10 years extensive clinical experience. A successful candidate will be expected to attain at least a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution within 36 months of initial employment with CSN.
  • Current Nevada license within 4 months of the date of hire.
  • Current AHA certifications in BLS.
  • 7 years of clinical experience in all patient age populations and acuity.
  • 3 years of clinical supervisory, managerial, or educational experience.
  • Current Nevada Blood Gas license within 4 months of the date of hire.
  • Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in RT, Education, Public Health, Health Administration or equivalent, from a regionally accredited College or University.
  • Other advanced NBRC credentials (NPS, ACCS, CPFT, RPFT, SDS) or Asthma Educator (AE-C).
  • Current AAP instructor in NRP.
  • Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, or PALS.
  • Experience as a clinical preceptor for students.
  • Documentation of active participation in the applicant's local respiratory community (Lung Association, etc.).
  • Membership in other healthcare or related professional organizations.
  • Prior teaching experience in Respiratory Therapy, Cardiorespiratory Sciences, or equivalent program.

Starting Salary Range

Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a Master's degree, the salary range would be $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89,166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years' experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement purposes.
