Instructor - Chemistry

Essential Functions
The University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Chemistry Department is seeking candidates for an instructor position beginning Fall semester 2026. The anticipated start date is August 17, 2026. We seek individuals dedicated to high-quality teaching. The successful candidate will be teaching and grading up to four laboratory sections or lectures per semester, holding office hours, participating in weekly instructors’ meetings, and performing assigned professional service activities.
The Chemistry Department currently has 21 faculty members serving over 100 undergraduate majors and supporting approximately 500 students per semester in undergraduate courses. Undergraduate education is the primary mission of the Department. The Department offers an ACS accredited Bachelor’s degree as well as Bachelor’s programs in Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry Education, and Pharmaceutical Science.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in chemistry or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their doctorate and who have qualifications in general chemistry and/or organic chemistry.
