Provide daily & ongoing oversight of facilities, equipment and
student records to include:
- maintaining classroom and laboratory spaces including upkeep of
assigned equipment

maintaining student records (e.g., grades and attendance) in
accordance with established deadlines using a variety of
technology-based programs (e.g., Colleague, WebAdvisor,
Moodle)

- promoting retention/persistence by assisting students to

Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by an agency
recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- Graduate of a dental assisting program or equivalent
combination of education, certification, and professional
experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of dental
assisting. Preference given to candidates with CODA -accredited
program training.
- Current Certified Dental Assistant- CDA credential or ability
to obtain CDA certification prior to hire date.
- Healthcare Provider Level CPR Certification with the American
Heart Association or ability to obtain certification prior to hire
date.
Education Preferred
Master’s degree from an institution accredited by an agency
recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Experience Required
- Minimum of three years or the equivalent of full-time clinical
experience as a chairside dental assistant
- Current unrestricted practice as a dental assistant in North
Carolina or be eligible to practice dental assisting in North
Carolina.
- Teaching and/or industry training experience
Experience Preferred
- Post-secondary teaching experience
- Experience with Dental Materials
- Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
- Experience with distance learning and/or alternate
instructional delivery systems
- ·Membership in the American Dental Assisting Association
