Instructor, Dental Hygiene - Tenure Track - Fall 2026 (Revised)
Job Description
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN), Department of Dental Sciences, Diagnostic Evaluation and Rehabilitation Services is currently seeking a full-time tenure track Dental Hygiene Instructor to begin Fall semester 2026. Teaching assignments may be multi-campus with the possibility of day, evening, weekend, summers, in-person, online, and/or hybrid classes in accord with department needs.
Under the direction of the Program Director and Department Chair, the Dental Hygiene Instructor will be responsible, but are not limited to the following:
- Teach a minimum of 15 instructional units per semester of DH courses, including online and in-person lectures, labs, and clinical courses. May include nights and off-campus sites.
- Attend faculty meetings, program review, and development in-services for the faculty, which may include nights and weekends.
- Maintain office hours for student advisement and remediation, per CSN Policy.
- Participate in community service and program committee assignments, which may include nights and weekends.
- Utilize various forms of online learning technology in teaching methodology.
- Support the goals, missions, and core values of the dental hygiene program by building good relations through clear communication with the director, faculty, staff, and students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene OR Associate of Science-Dental Hygiene AND a bachelor's degree in a health-related field from an accredited institution.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in a master's degree program for either Dental Hygiene, Education, Higher Education, Public Health, OR an equivalent degree in a health-related profession from a regionally accredited College or University. Consideration will be given to BSDH degree applicants who are beginning a master's degree program in the Fall of 2026.
- Three years of clinical experience as a full-time Dental Hygienist.
- Provide evidence of an active Nevada Dental Hygiene license with local anesthesia and nitrous oxide permits or the ability to obtain a Nevada Dental Hygiene license and the local anesthesia and nitrous oxide permits prior to beginning start date of employment.
- Must have by the start of employment a current BLS-CPR Provider Card/Certificate.
- Must have by the start of employment membership in the American Dental Hygienists' Association and if hired, provide membership in the Nevada state and local component Dental Hygiene Associations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior didactic and clinical teaching experience in a Dental Hygiene program.
- Leadership/Management experience in a Dental Hygiene program.
- Experience teaching and/or working with diverse student and staff populations.
