Job Description:
The Department of Geology & Geological Engineering in the School of Engineering at the University of Mississippi invites applicants for a full-time, 9-month Instructional Faculty position (non-tenure track) to begin August 20, 2026. Teaching responsibilities will include geology courses for non-majors; courses supporting undergraduate degrees in geology and geological engineering; assisting with instructional laboratories; and participation in instruction of summer field camps (field camps are outside of the nine-month contract and qualify for additional compensation). Additional summer teaching opportunities for additional pay may be available, yet summer employment is not always guaranteed. The candidate is also expected to contribute to departmental service.

Job Responsibilities:
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or higher in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field at the start date of the appointment. In addition, candidates should demonstrate a proven record of excellence in teaching.
The ability to teach lower-level engineering classes and/or experience with online teaching will be considered an advantage
