Instructor of Computer Science
The faculty member will teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Computer Information Systems, contribute to curriculum development, and provide academic support and mentorship to students. The position requires a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student engagement, and service to the department and university community.
Specific Duties Include:
- Teach assigned undergraduate courses in areas such as: Web Design and Web Development; Computer Network Administration; Intro to Programming; Cybersecurity and related certifications; Computer Applications; Database Theory; Analysis of Algorithms; and Java Programming
- Develop, update, and improve course materials and syllabi to ensure academic rigor and relevance.
- Hold regular office hours to advise and mentor students on coursework and career goals.
- Participate in departmental and university committees and initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and remain current in emerging technologies and pedagogical approaches.
- Contribute to student recruitment, retention, and success initiatives.
- Support the mission and values of Bethune-Cookman University.
