APPOINTMENT: 9-month; 100% appointment; Macomb, Illinois
RESPONSIBILITIES: The School of Accounting and Business Administration in the College of Business, Health, and Community Professions invites applications for a Unit B Instructor in Human Resource Management. This is an associate faculty position with a primary emphasis on undergraduate teaching, with the possibility of contributing to graduate instruction in the MBA program.
The successful candidate will teach Human Resource Management courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. The position supports a student-centered, workforce-aligned curriculum and contributes to ongoing program quality and continuous improvement efforts consistent with AACSB accreditation standards.
- Teach undergraduate courses in Human Resource Management; potential to teach graduate courses in the MBA HRM concentration
- Deliver instruction in multiple modalities, including face-to-face and online
- Maintain instructional quality and engage students in a supportive learning environment
- Contribute to student success through accessibility, communication, and mentoring
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum alignment, course development, and program assessment
- Participate in assurance of learning and continuous improvement processes
- Engage in service activities appropriate to a unit B appointment
RANK & SALARY: Instructor, 9-month appointment. $7,950 - $8,333 per month, commensurate with experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Human Resource Management, MBA, or closely related field.
- Relevant professional experience in Human Resource Management or a related area
- Demonstrated ability or potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Commitment to student-centered teaching and applied learning.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
- Prior teaching experience in HRM or related business disciplines
- Experience teaching in online or hybrid formats
- Evidence of ongoing professional engagement consistent with AACSB IP/SP expectations (e.g., consulting, professional development, applied scholarship, or industry partnerships)
- Ability to contribute to graduate instruction in an MBA program
