Instructor of Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology I for Healthcare

Founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1948, Stonehill is a private Catholic college located just 22 miles from downtown Boston on a beautiful 384-acre campus in Easton, Massachusetts. We seek an Instructor to collaboratively teach two lecture and/or three lab sections of Introduction to Human Anatomy & Physiology for Healthcare I course for first-year undergraduate students in a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Both lecture and lab are taught in person. The two lecture sections are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:30 am–9:20 am, and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00 am–10:50 a.m. The three lab sections are on Tuesdays, from 10:00 am–11:50 am, Thursdays, 10:00 am–11:50 am, and Thursdays, 1:30 pm – 3:20 pm. There is the possibility of teaching Introduction to Human Anatomy & Physiology for Healthcare II lecture and/or lab during the Spring 2027 semester.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and teach the assigned course components in a manner appropriate for first-year undergraduate students in a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
- Incorporate active learning approaches and technology into course presentations.
- Assess student performance in accordance with best practices in teaching and learning.
- Maintain a schedule of classes.
- Post and maintain office hours, and is responsive to student queries.
- Utilize Canvas as the learning management system.
- Grade lecture and/or lab assignments, projects, and assessments within appropriate time frames.
- Inform the Dean of Nursing in a timely manner of any problems encountered.
- Advise the Dean of one’s absence in a timely manner.
- Keep accurate student attendance according to established procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
A Master’s degree or higher in biology or a related discipline is required. Previous experience teaching undergraduate Human Anatomy & Physiology is required; experience teaching the course to healthcare students, particularly nursing, is strongly preferred.
