Tarleton State University invites applications for the position of Instructor of Professional Writing in the Department of English and Languages. This is a 9-month non-tenure-track position located on Tarleton’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary responsibility will be teaching Professional Writing courses, with the possibility of teaching composition 1 and 2 courses, as needed.
Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate students.
Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments.
Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes.
Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking skills.
Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours and mentoring.
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in institutional service roles.

Minimum Requirements

Earned master’s degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited university.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
