Instructor - Professional Studies
Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
Major/Essential Functions
Teaching online undergraduate, micro-credentialing, and/or graduate courses in Leadership Studies, Organizational Leadership, or Interdisciplinary Studies for the School of Professional Studies degree program. Job assignment is dependent on the needs of the department and credentials of individual hired.
Faculty Qualifications
Terminal Degree (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) in one of the following areas: Leadership Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, Higher Education, Related field OR Master's Degree in one of the following areas: Leadership Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, Higher Education, Related Field. Additional Requirements: Terminal or master's degree must be conferred prior to hire. Candidates who hold a completed master's degree in any field and have completed 18 credit hours in the above specified areas (as determined by the academic unit) will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership and/or online teaching Certification
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Blackboard or Canvas
- 2 to 5 years of teaching experience in higher education
- 2 to 5 years of demonstrated leadership in professional practice
