SUMMARY

The Department of Psychology, Philosophy, and Neuroscience at SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a full-time, 10 month, tenure track Instructor of Psychology. This position will teach four courses per semester, including courses in psychology for undergraduate students, graduate students, or both. Teaching will be in-person at our Brockport campus and online. The person in this role will advise undergraduate students in Psychology as well as engage in departmental and university service. Engaging in scholarship or professional development to maintain professional currency is also part of this role.

  • Teaches 4 courses per semester
  • Advises students and engages in department and university service

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or doctorate in Psychology from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered, but a degree must be conferred within six months of hire
  • A demonstrated ability to teach a variety of courses in psychology at the undergraduate level, graduate level, or both
  • Ability to successfully advise students on course scheduling, career planning, and success in college
  • Commitment to inclusive education of a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in clinical psychology
  • Previous experience teaching research methods
  • Prior teaching success and commitment to exemplary teaching at the college level
  • Ability to effectively engage faculty, staff, and students in a collegial and collaborative manner
