The Department of Teacher Education is accepting applications for potential Instructor openings for courses in curriculum and instruction for the academic year 2026-2027. The need for these positions is undetermined at this time and is dependent on operational need including enrollment and staffing. If a need arises, the department will select candidates from this pool posting.

Application to this pool will be utilized to fill part-time, non-tenure track, non-benefits eligible instructor positions on the Athens campus as student demand dictates for fall and spring semesters.

Job Description

Our leader-educators, practitioners, and human service professionals share our commitment to serving society responsibly as change agents in meeting diverse human and social needs.

  • The number of Teacher Education courses offered each semester is dependent on student demand. The need may include both graduate and undergraduate courses in Curriculum and Instruction.
  • The successful applicant will bring strong qualifications both academically and professionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses on campus and/or online
  • Contribute to the instructional mission of the Teacher Education Department and Patton College of Education
  • Using Canvas for academic engagement

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in the field or comparable
  • Current or prior teaching license
  • Experience using technology for teaching

Preferred Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or a related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of theory and research-supported best practices for teaching and learning
  • Experience and expertise in Teacher Education
  • Evidence of professional training or attendance and/or presentations at conferences
  • Ability to deliver online instruction
  • Experience teaching in higher education
