Support a collaborative research project exploring social dimensions of gene-drive technologies in conservation.
The Role
Join a dynamic interdisciplinary team contributing to a major MBIE-funded research project focused on weaving cultural authority into gene-drive technologies targeting wasps. Based in Lincoln University's Department of Environmental Management, you'll collect and analyse documentary data, publish high-quality research, and collaborate across disciplines.
- Collect, analyse and interpret documentary data using qualitative and/or quantitative methods
- Maintain accurate records of research methods, results and analysis
- Prepare manuscripts and publish in reputable journals or presses
- Present findings at seminars, workshops and conferences
- Collaborate with a diverse research team across institutions
- Support strategic research goals through leadership and engagement
Fixed term role ending September 2028, working 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE) at our Lincoln Campus.
Essential Skills/Experience
You will have:
- A PhD in geography, political studies, anthropology, sociology or a related field
- Strong knowledge of environmental social science in conservation and genetic modification
- Proficiency in documentary analysis tools such as NVivo
- Proven track record of scholarly research and publication
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and meet research funding requirements
