International Academic Operations & Support Manager

Surrey Hills, Melbourne | Permanent | Full time opportunity

Make a global impact without leaving the campus.

At Australia Institute of Future Education (AIFE), we believe education should connect people, cultures, and opportunities across borders. We’re now looking for an International Academic Operations & Support Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting our international academic staff and strengthening our global partnerships.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of international education, academic quality and people support without requiring overseas travel.

This is a people‑centred, coordination‑focused role that sits at the heart of our international academic operations - working closely with overseas educators, partner institutions, and internal academic leaders.

ABOUT AIFE

The Australia Institute of Future Education (AIFE) is a TEQSA-certified higher education institute committed to delivering world-class education that connects Australia with global learning ecosystems. Through strategic partnerships with leading universities, industries and government agencies we develop high-quality programs that support global talent mobility and academic excellence.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will be the key support and coordination point for AIFE’s international academic staff, particularly those teaching with our partner universities in China and other regions.

You’ll ensure our academics are:

  • Specialist onboarding for international deployment
  • Pre-departure and in-country readiness support
  • Meeting academic, professional and compliance expectations

While this role does not have direct reports, it carries significant responsibility and influence, requiring judgement, discretion and strong stakeholder management across borders.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this role, you will ensure seamless academic operations for our international teaching workforce by:

  • Coordinating contracts, placements and onboarding for international academic staff
  • Assisting with visa/work permit submissions, overseeing renewals, eligibility risks and timing
  • Supporting recruitment processes post-interview, including offer coordination and transition to onboarding
  • Maintaining accurate records, documentation and compliance requirements
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for academic staff and partner institutions
  • Supporting performance review processes and addressing academic or professional issues with care and professionalism
  • Liaising across internal teams including Academic Operations, Registrar and People & Culture
  • Contributing to reporting, process improvement and quality assurance initiatives

Above all, you’ll help ensure that our international academics feel supported, informed and set up for success.

ABOUT YOU

You’re someone who thrives in environments that are collaborative, fast‑moving and internationally connected.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in international higher education or academic operations
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with high attention to detail
  • Confidence working with contracts, policies and compliance frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong cultural awareness
  • Ability to manage volume, deadlines and competing priorities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel
  • Expert knowledge of visas in China for international academics

Highly regarded:

  • Experience working with international partners (especially China)
  • Familiarity with academic or regulatory frameworks
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (Cloud Campus)

If you’re motivated by international education, enjoy working behind the scenes to support people and programs and want to contribute to high‑quality academic delivery on a global scale - we’d love to hear from you.

Apply via SEEK by 10th May 2026.
