Internship Program Coordinator
Job Summary
This position coordinates the inaugural Jags On-Campus Internship Program with over 50 students annually. The Internship Program Coordinator collaborates with Human Resources, academic departments, and student service areas to ensure seamless operations for the campus-based internship program by establishing and ensuring successful workflows across the program, managing the budget and payroll allocations for interns, and serving as first point of contact for students and site mentors. The position involves coordinating training and development, event planning, and program assessment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
STUDENT AND SITE MENTOR ENGAGEMENT: Serves as a first point of contact for prospective and current student interns and site intern mentors. Advises students on resume development, interviewing, and skill alignment with positions across the campus internship program. Nurtures the professional development of students, helping them to identify their growth areas and strengths as it pertains to career readiness and professionalism. Coach students on conflict resolution, proactive communications and foundational workplace expectations to ensure a growth mindset. Administer all training programs for site mentors and interns. Facilitates inquiries from site mentors and student interns regarding concerns, protocols and provides referrals as needed to the appropriate lead partners across Career Services and Human Resources.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS: Approves all biweekly student intern payroll, addressing issues and remedies in a timely manner per processing deadlines. Ensures proper payment to interns, accurate departmental account adjustments, and Federal and State requirements are met. Actions onboarding and terminations in partnership with HR, working closely with the Student Employment Center in Human Resources and the Payroll department. Serves as the liaison with HR regarding hires and HR related actions. Manages appointments, metrics, and evaluation collection to assess and refine program operations. Manages budgets, purchasing, and administrative elements of the campus internship program.
PROGRAM COORDINATION/MANAGEMENT: Audits the internship vetting and posting process in alignment with program rubrics and procedures. Communicates with site mentors and helps them with recruiting, hiring, and other relevant program processes. Inputs approved internship postings into recruiting software system and ensures accuracy. Maintains site mentor and student marketing correspondences and training materials. Coordinates intern and mentor appreciation events and development programs. Assists with Career Services related operations, events, and touchpoints with other team members. Advises Career Services leadership on process improvements and value-added adjustments for the program.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in human resources, higher education, or related area required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university with experience in career services and/or specifically internship programs.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of career counseling and student development theories and practices to help students achieve success. Knowledge of human resources and employment law as a project manager for the campus internship program.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
Outgoing and engaging demeanor to encourage student rapport and partnerships across campus.
ABILITIES
Ability to make sound judgments, problem solve and identify solutions.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the regular business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B8
Salary: $45,400/annually - $56,700/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.
