Job Summary/Basic Functions

An Interpreter facilitates communication between current students who are deaf/hard of hearing in all academic aspects of the university experience. Including but not limited to, classroom lectures, academic advising, field trips, and internships.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree is required.

Experience: Two (2) years of directly related experience is required. Equivalency: Education or native like ASL skills may substitute for experience

Level III: National Interpreting Certification is required and must be a member in good standing. Full Interpreting License is required and must be maintained.

Level II: Temporary Interpreting License is required and must be maintained. Must be actively working towards National Interpreting Certification.
