Scope of Job:
The UTRGV SOM is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Interventional Radiologist to provide both clinical (non-teaching) and academic interventional and diagnostic radiology services. Clinical responsibilities will include outpatient interventional and diagnostic radiology services and may include in-patient services. Academic responsibilities may include teaching residents/medical students in the outpatient clinical setting and in the classroom. Participation in scholarly activity, faculty development, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, and other administrative and program committees are expected. Also, preparation and presentation of program didactics, grand rounds, and assisting with undergraduate medical education will be assigned at the Chair's discretion. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with academic experience and credentials.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in the broad spectrum of Adult Interventional Radiologist procedures. M.D. degree or equivalent. Board certified or board eligible in Radiology (American Board of Radiology in Interventional Radiology) Must possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical License. Five (5) years experience with evidence of progressive management responsibilities and leadership in an academic department. Demonstrable record of collaboration, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiasm for medical education and mentoring faculty and ability to engage a broad base of potential stakeholders to work towards a shared vision.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications:
Physicians must have completed residency training and completion of an ACGME approved Fellowship Program in Interventional Radiology.
Preferred Qualification:
Experience in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Regional or emerging reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher.

Additional Information: UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
