Intranet Team Lead
- Full-time, fixed-term position through to May 2026
- Base salary will be in the range $117,958 - $132,247 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8)
- Based at our St Lucia location
About This Opportunity
UQ’s online presence is undergoing an exciting period of transformational change, and the Intranet Team Lead will play a key role in shaping this future. Reporting to the Associate Director, Application Development, Administration and Support, you will lead the design, development and ongoing enhancement of UQ’s intranet, working closely with developers, content editors and stakeholders to deliver a user-centred, engaging and accessible digital experience that supports the University’s goals and values.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and direction to a multi-skilled team to deliver high-quality intranet and digital assets with a strong focus on user experience (UX).
- Collaborating with organisational units and stakeholders to ensure intranet content is timely, accessible, usable and aligned with best practice standards.
- Ensuring quality control across intranet assets, including UX/UI, content standards, governance and consistency of design and navigation.
- Driving continuous improvement by monitoring emerging trends in UX and digital experience design and advising on their application at UQ.

About You
You are an experienced digital leader with strong technical knowledge, a collaborative mindset and a passion for creating effective intranet experiences within a complex organisation.
- A Bachelor degree in Communications, Information Systems or a related field, with postgraduate qualifications (or progress towards them), or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- At least five years’ experience in digital asset production and/or communications, including intranet or web environments.
- Proven experience leading and coaching Agile project teams.
- Strong knowledge of intranet design, usability, accessibility standards and web governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing intranet content strategies, policies and guidelines.
- Experience working with stakeholders in the higher education sector to understand diverse user needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of HTML, content management systems (including SharePoint), and SEO and analytics best practices.
