Department:
UW-Stout’s Purchasing and Materials Management department is
committed to providing excellent customer service to the campus
community. The department provides support to campus in Purchasing,
Mail Services, Central Receiving, University Stores, Printing, and
Surplus. The department is committed to creating an inclusive work

Compensation:
Minimum starting salary of $17.00/hour, commensurate with
qualifications, available budget, and experience.
A six-month probationary period is required.
Minimum / Required
- Working knowledge of computers and standard business software,
including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid Wisconsin Driver’s license
Special Qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry up to 58 pounds and perform physical
activities that include bending, stooping, twisting, pulling, and
pushing. These requirements will be assessed through a job function
test before employment.
- Ability to operate, or successfully complete training to
operate, a forklift.
Highly Desired/Preferred
- Experience with USPS standards, mail processing, postal rates,
mail classes, and shipping procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to a
collaborative and positive work environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail when handling packages,
supplies, inventory, or records.
- Demonstrated reliability, accountability, thoroughness, and
resourcefulness.
- Experience identifying, documenting, and recommending
improvements to workplace processes.
- Ability to address workplace mistakes, customer concerns, and
conflicts professionally.
