Job Description
The University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Inventory Technician to support our supply chain and production teams. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate management of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and non-GMP materials that support critical reactor and production activities.
The Inventory Technician will be responsible for tracking inventory levels, maintaining clean and organized release rooms and process areas, supporting the Bill of Materials (BOM) and checkout systems, and coordinating with both procurement and production staff. This role ensures uninterrupted production workflows while upholding strict safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and accurate inventory counts for GMP and non-GMP items without disrupting production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
- Replenish stock as needed to prevent delays in production activities.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to reorder supplies in a timely manner.
- Properly handle and assist with the disposal of excess or obsolete GMP and non-GMP materials.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance in release rooms and uncontrolled process areas.
- Ensure storage areas and related equipment are well-maintained and functional.
- Accurately maintain release room logbooks in real time.
- Support production checkout processes, including BOM verification and material tracking using current systems.
- Work closely with production staff to ensure all materials are properly checked out and ready for use.
- Assist with additional production and supply chain tasks as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as part of daily physical responsibilities.
- Proficiency in inventory systems and related software tools.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with teams.
- Working knowledge of safety protocols and material handling regulations.
Must be available for reliable and consistent onsite work.
Shift
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in GMP-compliant environments.
- Familiarity with inventory documentation practices, including logbooks and audits.
- Understanding of the Bill of Materials (BOM) process in manufacturing.
- Previous experience in inventory, warehousing, or production support roles.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
