As the Investigations and Communications Coordinator at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding one of Australia's premier academic institutions. You'll develop and implement innovative crime prevention strategies, manage high-profile security operations, and lead critical investigations. This role offers you the opportunity to shape campus-wide safety policies, collaborate with diverse stakeholders including law enforcement, and contribute to the security of a vibrant university community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategy Development: Create and implement crime prevention and mitigation strategies across the university.
- Training Leadership: Prepare and deliver high-quality security training programs for university stakeholders.
- Event Security Management: Oversee security arrangements for special events, including VIP visits and major campus activities.
- Incident Investigation: Manage investigations of criminal activities on university premises, liaising with police as needed.
- Risk Analysis: Conduct security reviews and provide expert advice on mitigating safety threats.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Consult with diverse university groups to ensure effective security service delivery.
You may be a great fit if:
You are an experienced security professional with a strong background in law enforcement or investigations, possessing excellent analytical skills and the ability to lead complex security operations in a diverse, high-profile environment.
You may also:
- Have substantial experience in law enforcement and incident investigation at a managerial level.
- Demonstrate extensive experience in criminal investigations and evidence gathering.
- Show proven ability in risk analysis and security provision for major events.
- Possess excellent organizational and report-writing skills for senior management.
- Exhibit strong leadership abilities in motivating and managing diverse teams.
- Have experience in developing and delivering security training programs.
- Show proficiency in using electronic security systems for incident management.
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in law enforcement or a security-related field (desirable).
- Have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
- Be willing to undergo a police check if required.
