Investigator I/II, Equal Opportunity Compliance
Job Summary
Auburn University's Equal Opportunity Compliance division is seeking a dedicated Equal Opportunity Compliance Investigator I or II to support investigations under the University's nondiscrimination policies, including matters involving sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment based on protected status. This role requires expertise in civil rights and policy, strong writing skills, experience in civil rights compliance, and delivering effective training programs.
Essential Functions
- Drafts notices and reports such as Notices of Investigation, Preliminary Report, and Final Investigative Report, ensuring accuracy and impartiality. Attends hearings as a witness as needed.
- Gathers evidence, interviews parties involved, develops investigation strategies, and maintains detailed notes and organized evidence.
- Conducts training sessions on University policies regarding sexual and gender-based misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Assists in preparing training materials on Title IX and other civil rights topics.
- Maintains knowledge of regulations including Title IX, Titles VI and VII, ADA, GINA, Rehabilitation Act, Clery Act, and other federal and Alabama civil rights laws.
- Manages and tracks cases in the electronic management system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Represents the Office of Title IX and AA/EEO at various events, develops presentation materials, and attends meetings such as the Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Task Force.
- Assists with University-wide threat assessments, works with Campus Safety & Security on Clery Act compliance, and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Investigator I: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 years of experience, or Master's degree with no experience.
Investigator II: Master's degree and 4 years of experience, or Juris Doctorate and 2 years of experience.
Desired Qualifications
Bar admission to AL State Bar or other state bar; Behavioral Intervention Team Standards & Best Practices Certification (NABITA).
