Spider Management Company ("Spider Management" or "Spider"), a wholly owned affiliate of the University of Richmond ("University") is the investment office for the University's endowment and a select group of other endowments and foundations. Through a unique outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO) model, Spider Management has approximately $6.5 billion in assets under management from the University and other non-profits, including colleges & universities, independent schools, community foundations, and cultural institutions. Spider Management is a dynamic and fast-paced investment management firm, investing a single portfolio across public equity, hedge funds, absolute return, venture capital, private equity, and real assets strategies.
The Investor Relations Analyst is an integral member of the Investor Relations team and focuses on the areas of communications, marketing, client service, branding, research, analysis, and compliance for Spider Management. Successful candidates are self-motivated, organized, professional, process-oriented, and have excellent attention to detail. The Analyst will have opportunities to learn about the investment industry and to lead projects.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include: Supporting the investor relations and client service functions of Spider Management related to communications, presentations, proposals, event planning, websites, branding, analysis, compliance, research, and more.
Client Service and Investor Relations
- Creates reports for investors and prospects, including updating data, graphics, production, and adherence to compliance procedures.
- Develops written responses to RFPs and other communications.
- Interacts with investors on meeting scheduling, requests for information, quarterly reports, additions/withdrawals, and other requests for assistance.
- Uses Excel, PowerPoint, and design capabilities to accurately and intuitively report on the portfolio and exposures; collaborates with all departments on development of content and graphics for materials.
- Manages investor web portal, monitoring usage and improving functionality.
- Identifies ways to use new technology to enhance the client service experience.
- Proactively identifies and executes ways to improve client service, processes, and communications.
- Creates internal reports for the team and/or clients, including physical copies.
- Responds to and proactively develops strong relationships with investors and team.
- Tracks and follows up on communications with investors and prospects.
- Conducts research and analysis on investors and prospects as well as meeting preparation and follow-up.
Content Management System
- Tracks important monthly/quarterly financial documents, client presentations, and contact information in database to ensure historical data and documentation of all work.
- Researches, adds, and maintains current information for investors, prospects, and managers in the system.
- Analyzes report findings to develop improvements to client service, communications, and business development
Event Planning
- Helps to plan and coordinate annual investors' meeting.
- Communicates with speakers and attendees of events regarding details and attendance.
- Organizes ad hoc events throughout the year for board of directors, investors, and educational opportunities as needed.
- Supports development of presentations for events, adhering to Spider Management guidelines and compliance procedures.
Branding & Public Relations
- Upgrades and manages external web site to enhance the usefulness, functionality, and visibility of the team and the firm's work.
- Promotes and enhances Spider Management branding and ensures consistency across all communications.
Special Projects
- Manages, supports, or lends guidance to special projects, which may include research, project management, notetaking, design, vendor management, technology enhancement, community relations, and volunteerism.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT
- Environment - For the first six months, the Investor Relations Analyst should be in the office five days a week to facilitate learning. Following that, a hybrid arrangement is possible, with a minimum of three days in the office per week and dependent on demonstrated effectiveness with remote work. Remote work days may need to be altered for special projects or meetings.
- Essential physical requirements - standing, sitting, typing, and must be able to lift 20 lbs.
- Some local travel is required

- Interest in investment management, global finance, and the needs of non-profits
Education and Experience
- 1-3 years of related work experience preferred
- Salesforce experience a plus
- Contact management and investment industry knowledge preferred
- Experience managing a client reporting process
- Investor relations, financial, asset management, or professional services marketing experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree required
Schedule: 38.75 hours per week. Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm
Salary: Commensurate with experience
