Location(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job SummaryProvides support to the university's data analytics and data quality efforts while developing practical skills in data analysis, data governance, reporting, and data management. Learns tools and methods used to assess, monitor, validate, and report on institutional data. Assists technical and business staff in supporting data quality initiatives and helping university departments use data to inform decision-making. Please note this position is an apprenticeship within Kennesaw State University Information Technology Services department; it does not guarantee permanent employment with the University.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
- Collaborates with data analysts, business stakeholders, and technical staff to support data quality and data governance initiatives.
- Assists with identifying, documenting, and resolving data quality issues.
- Learns to monitor production data and identify anomalies requiring investigation or escalation.
- Assists with data validation, data profiling, and quality assurance activities across institutional data sources.
- Assists with developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and data integrity monitoring solutions.
- Learns to document data definitions, business rules, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborates with campus partners, including the Office of University Data Strategy, to support university data initiatives and strategic objectives.
- Provides customer service support through verbal and written communication while assisting stakeholders with data-related inquiries.

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Coursework, internships, student employment, or project experience involving data analysis, reporting, or information systems Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and data analysis concepts Exposure to reporting, dashboarding, business intelligence, or statistical software tools Interest in data governance, data quality, and institutional data management Experience working with higher education administrative, academic, or student information systems
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Student currently enrolled seeking a degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field

Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines Ability to identify patterns, trends, discrepancies, and data quality concerns Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information appropriately

Strong interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organizational, communication, time-management, and presentation skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel)
