About the role

The Østergaard laboratory at the Department of Biology is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in legume developmental genetics.

This post aims to understand the biosynthesis of an auxin variant during pea pod growth. Through molecular and genetic approaches, the work will reveal how this auxin variant is synthesized and studying its role in inducing post fertilisation pod growth.

As we are establishing a research programme in legume developmental genetics, the candidate is expected to contribute towards developing methods and optimizing protocols for working in legumes.

About you

You will have a PhD degree (or equivalent experience) in plant genetics/molecular biology. It is essential that you have previous experience of working in the field of plant hormone dynamics and morphogenesis in reproductive organ development and possess specialist knowledge in pea genetics, pea pod development and in the biosynthesis of auxin variants involved in pea pod development.

Where Covid-19 has resulted in substantial disruption to your work or research outputs, please explain this by providing an additional paragraph in your supporting statement.
