Work content and job description
JYRF will advance their research projects and achieve outstanding results in a research and development environment utilizing state-of-the-art JAMSTEC facilities such as research vessels and the Earth Simulator. JYRFs are expected to proactively set their own research themes across a wide range of natural sciences and engineering disciplines, generate research outcomes as independent researchers, engage in international activities, and contribute to both domestic and international research communities.

- Research budget: JPY 1,000,000 per year for 3 years
- Mentorship system: Assigned mentors and sub-mentors provide advice on research progress and support all aspects of research life.

Annual salary: 6 million yen - 8 million yen
Wages description: Annual salary, paid in 12 equal monthly installments. JPY 6,600,000 - 7,200,000
Working hours: 09:00-17:30
Break time: 12:15-13:00
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, year-end and New Year's holidays. Annual paid leave, special leave, leave of absence to care for a family member, and maternity leave are provided.
