Organization Profile: Indian Institute of Information Technology Tiruchirappalli (IIITT), also known as IIIT Trichy, is an Institute of National Importance and one among the 20 IIITs proposed under the non-profit Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model by MHRD. IIITT is an academic and research institute fully funded by Government of India, Government of Tamil Nadu and Industry Partners in the ratio of 50:35:15. Industry partners include Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS), Infosys, Ramco Systems, ELCOT, and Navitas (TAKE Solutions). The focus is to address the challenges faced by the Indian IT industry and growth of the domestic IT market.

Research Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Project Assistant (PA)

Title of the Project: Ultra Low Power SHAKTI RISC V Based Lightweight Edge AI Processor for IoT-enabled Healthcare Applications

Sponsoring/Funding Agency: Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India

Essential Qualifications for Project Assistant: First class in B.E/B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering / Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Computer Science and Engineering with minimum of 60% of marks or 6.5 CGPA from any recognized university / Institute.

Essential Qualifications for JRF: First class in B.E/B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering / Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Computer Science and Engineering with minimum of 60% of marks or 6.5 CGPA from any recognized university / Institute, and First class in M.E/M.Tech. in VLSI/ Microelectronics/ SoC-Design/ Embedded systems/ Semiconductor Technology/ IoT/ Computer Science and Engineering / Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning/ Signal Processing/ Communication systems with minimum of 60% of marks or 6.5 CGPA from any recognized university / Institute.

Desirable Qualifications: Sound Knowledge of Verilog RTL Coding, Strong fundamentals in C/C++, MATLAB, AI algorithm implementation in C/Python, Multithreading and Programming, Good knowledge in Linear algebra, Knowledge in Digital signal processing, adaptive signal processing & array signal processing, Hands on experience in FPGA Architecture and Programming, Hands on experience on AI based Micro-controllers and Microprocessors Programming and debugging, Hands on experience in IoT based electronic product design and development, Sensors and actuators used in healthcare applications and interfacing with microprocessors and micro-controllers, Profound knowledge on ASIC Design and Implementation (RTL coding to GDS II Extraction), Network/System on Chip, Basic Knowledge on EDA tools.

Project Duration: 5 Years (2024-2029)

Stipend: Rs. 30,000 – 37,000/- per month (for JRF), Rs. 15,000 – 20,000/- per month (for Project Assistant)
