Junior Policy Advisor (Jong UNL)
Job Summary: As a Junior Policy Advisor at the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (UNL), you will contribute to various policy dossiers, translate complex matters into clear analyses, engage in policy, research, advice, and lobbying, monitor political and societal developments, organize meetings with stakeholders, and represent UNL's standpoints in networks and media to enhance its profile as a modern organization.
Responsibilities: Translate complex topics into structured analyses; Engage in policy, research, advice, and lobbying; Monitor political and societal developments; Contribute to the association's standpoints; Organize meetings with university members and external stakeholders; Represent UNL in meetings, networks, and via social media.
Qualifications and Requirements: Academic work and thinking level with graduation no more than 3 years ago; Excellent writing skills and enjoyment in writing; Proficiency in Dutch and English; Ability to process and interpret numerical or other data; Strong collaboration skills, ability to give and receive feedback, and self-reflection; Interest in societal issues and sensitivity to political and administrative relations; Willingness to develop in a professional, challenging environment.
What the Employer Offers: A full-time contract of 38 hours per week for one year, extendable by three years upon good performance; Opportunity to develop into a mid-level policy advisor over four years; Excellent secondary benefits including an 8.3% end-of-year bonus, generous vacation leave, and an active training policy; Starting salary at scale 10 of the CAO NU.
