Organization Profile: The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients. He gave the name “Hamdard” to his venture which means “sympathy for all and sharing of pain”.

Job Title: Junior Research Fellow

Name of the Research Project: Development of some novel thiazolidine-4-one analogs as potential PPAR-γ agonists for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes: in silico studies, synthesis and biological evaluation.

Name of sponsoring agency: Department of Science and Technology (DST)

Duration of the position: Project will close at the end of February 2024

Qualifications and Experience: First class M. Pharm / M.S. (Pharm.) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry with GATE/GPAT/CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship or equivalent examination will be preferred.

Job Location: New Delhi

Fellowship: INR 31,000+HRA per month for the first two years and INR 35,000+HRA per month after conversion to SRF as per DST, Govt. of India guidelines. The project start date is 1st March 2021.
