Organization Profile: National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, earlier known as Regional Institute of Technology, was established on 15th August 1960 as a joint venture of Government of India and the Government of Bihar in the chain of REC’s (Regional Engineering College) in India with the aim to generate technical graduates of highest standards who could provide technological leadership to the region. It was among the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) established as part of the Second Five-Year Plan (1956 – 1961).

Research Position: Junior Research Fellow

Title of the project: Experimental Investigation and CFD modeling of Centrifugal Slurry Pump for handling non-Newtonian solid–liquid flow

Sponsoring/Funding Agency: Science & Engineering Research Board, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India

Essential Qualifications: M. Tech/ M.E/ M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA at both B.E./B. Tech. and M.E./M. Tech. levels. Or B. Tech./B.E. Mechanical Engineering with GATE score and CGPA above 8.0/10.

Desirable Qualifications: Candidates with exposure in CFD modeling of fluid flow or thermal system and relevant experimental set up development.

Project Duration: 01 years or till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier. Initial appointment will be for one year, extendable up to 1.5 years subject to satisfactory performance of the JRF and extension of the project.

Fellowship: Rs.31,000/- per month + HRA (as per norms)
