National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) is one of the 31 NITs of India and was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Silchar. In 2002, it was upgraded to the status of National Institute of Technology and was declared as Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007.

Job Title: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Project Title: Unveiling the Role of Glycocalyx in Red Blood Cell Movement under Electric Field: Vision for an Affordable and Sustainable Technique (VAST) for Early Preeclampsia Detection

Department: Department of Mechanical Engineering

Duration: Three (03) years (extension based on performance review every 12 months)

Essential Qualification:

• B.E./ B. Tech or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering
• GATE qualification.
• M.E./ M. Tech or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering

Desirable Experience:

• Basic knowledge in Fluid Mechanics.
• Prior knowledge of Experimental Micro fluidics, Blood flow Dynamics, Computational fluid dynamics is advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Location: Silchar, Assam

Salary: Rs.37,000/- p.m. for first two years (JRF); 42000/- p.m. for third year (SRF). HRA @10% if Institute Accommodation is not provided.
