National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, earlier known as Regional Institute of Technology, was established on 15th August 1960 as a joint venture of Government of India and the Government of Bihar in the chain of REC’s (Regional Engineering College) in India with the aim to generate technical graduates of highest standards who could provide technological leadership to the region. It was among the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) established as part of the Second Five-Year Plan (1956 – 1961).

Research Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Department: Civil Engineering

Title of the project: Enhancement of the Stability of Engineered Slope by Vegetation: A Sustainable Approach

Essential Qualification: M. Tech./ M.E./ M.S. in Civil Engineering (CE) or equivalent with minimum 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA on a ten-point scale) at both B.E./ B. Tech. and M.E./M. Tech. or B. Tech./B.E. in CE or equivalent with a CGPA above 8.0.

Desirable Qualification: Exposure to landslides and slope stability analysis, relevant experimental set-up development, and Fair proficiency in coding (Python/MATLAB).

Project Duration: Two (02) years or till the completion of the project, whichever happens earlier.

Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- (+ HRA as per norms) per month (JRF) for the first year and Rs. 35,000/- (+ HRA as per norms) per month (SRF) for the second year
