"Junior Research Fellow"

Doctor Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya Sagar is recruiting for the position of Junior Research Fellow for the project titled "Age, Origin, and Emplacement of the Eastern Himalayan Ophiolites, Northeast India: constraints from platinum group elements geochemistry and isotopic signatures", sponsored by the Science & Engineering Research Board, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Department: Applied Geology

Essential Qualification: M.Sc./M.Tech in Geology/Applied Geology/Earth Science or related field with at least 55% marks for GN/OBC (50% for SC/ST/PH) from a UGC recognized University/Institutes with valid CSIR-UGC-NET/GATE/NET qualification.

Desirable Qualification: Work experience involving Igneous Petrology/Geochemistry/Geochronology/Mineralogy/Mineralization/Tectonics, etc., and fieldwork experience in Himalayan regions as part of Postgraduation Dissertation/Research Project, etc.

Project Duration: 3 years

Engagement Period: Initially for one year, extendable subject to project extension, satisfactory work, and availability of funds.

Age: Below 28 years as on date of interview (relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Government rules).

Candidate Profile: Completed UG/PG in relevant discipline with good academic records, excellent communication skills, passion towards teaching and guiding students, and good research record.

Pay Scale: Rs.37,000 per month + HRA for initial two years, then Rs.42,000 per month + HRA for third year.
