Organization Profile: The Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, New Delhi has taken a decision for setting up of New NITs under 11th Five year plan vide order No.F-23-13/2009-TS.III dt.30th October 2009. By virtue of this, a new NIT has come into existence in the Union Territory of Puducherry. This National Institute of Technology Puducherry admits students through JEE(MAIN) with 50% of seats reserved for the candidates having residence/native at Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Yenam and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar and the remaining 50% seats filled on all India basis.

Job Title: Junior Research Fellow

Title of the Project: Design and Development of Flexible Solar Parabolic Dish Concentrator System with Variable Focal Length for Electrical Power Generation and Potable Water Production using TEG and Seawater

Funding Agency: Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Core Research Grant (CRG)

Department: Mechanical Engineering

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical / Energy / Chemical / Aeronautical Engineering (and) M.E. / M.Tech. in Thermal Engineering / Solar Energy Renewable Energy / Energy Engineering / Any Allied Stream. (and) First Class Degree in either B.E. / B.Tech. or M.E. /M.Tech. is mandatory.

Desirable Skills: Knowledge in Developments of Experimental Set-up related to Solar Energy, Heat transfer, Thermal Engineering, CFD – ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL Multiphysics

Duration of the Project: 3 Year

Job Location: Karaikal

Salary: Rs. 37,000 + 08% HRA for first two years as JRF & Rs. 42,000 + 08% HRA for the third year as SRF
