Organization Profile: IISER Mohali started its academic programme in 2007, with a batch of 25 students in the five-year BS-MS Dual Degree Program. The Ph.D. Program was started in 2008 and the Integrated Ph.D. program was started in 2012. IISER Mohali’s fully residential campus is located on 125 acres of land given by the Punjab Government, in the Knowledge City at Sector 81, Mohali.

Job Title: Junior Research Fellow

Title: Mechanistic insights into the regulation of fatty acid metabolism by envelope stress response pathways in bacteria

About the project: The project is focused on understanding the regulation exerted by envelope stress response pathways during aerobic metabolism of long-chain fatty acids in E. coli and examine the interconnection between long-chain fatty acid metabolism and envelope redox stress in pathogenic bacteria.

Employment Type: Temporary

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. /B. Tech or equivalent degree in any branch of life sciences with minimum 60% marks. Prior hands-on training in molecular biology, biochemistry, and microbiology is necessary. Candidates who have qualified any of the national tests like CSIR-UGC NET / GATE etc will be eligible for Junior Research Fellow position. The candidate will be expected to work at the bench, interpret data, and troubleshoot experiments.

Duration: 1 year (extendable based upon performance and availability of funds)
