Junior Research Groups (f/m/d) AI in Health and Infection Disease

The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) is offering positions for Junior Research Group Leaders to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) in the HUMAN program, focusing on:

• AI-supported Mechanistic Mathematical Modelling and Simulation
• Computational Network Sciences and AI for Biology and Health

These groups will work on advancing AI-driven modeling, simulation, and network analysis for biological systems and health applications, embedded in the Braunschweig Integrated Centre of Systems Biology (BRICS) and CAIMed.

Requirements:

• PhD in fields such as applied mathematics, computer science, computational biology, or related areas.
• Proven expertise in mechanistic modeling, AI/ML applications, and programming (e.g., Python, Julia).
• Experience in areas like hybrid modeling, Bayesian inference, and high-performance computing.
• Strong publication record, funding experience, and communication skills in English and German.
