Reporting to the Research Associate, the successful candidate will help primarily in designing, building, and maintaining the project's archival database, ensuring data integrity and multilingual (Arabic/English) support. Other responsibilities include researching and implementing AI tools (particularly retrieval-augmented generation - RAG) to support data organization and search; developing and maintaining the project's WordPress site (wireframes, UX/UI, and design-system work); and providing general administrative support to the research team. The candidate will work closely with humanities researchers, archivists, historians, private sector partners and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and propose feasible technical solutions.
Applicants must have a bachelor's and a Master’s degree with less than 5 years in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related technical field with coursework, internship, or project experience in database design, web development (preferably WordPress), APIs and data structuring, applied AI/RAG, and UX/UI design, as well as some experience in administrative support. Arabic language proficiency, an interest in the humanities and social sciences, and experience with multilingual data systems are preferred.
