The Executive Board of INESC-ID approved an international selection call for 1 (one) uncertain-term work contract in the scope of the research activities of the Open Design Ecosystem for European Chips - Productivity, Interoperability, Verification (ODE4EC-PIV) Open Design Ecosystem for European Chips - Productivity, Interoperability, Verification (ODE4EC-PIV)project running in INESC-ID.
This uncertain-term employment contract will remain in effect for the period necessary to complete the objectives/functions, with an estimated duration of 12 (twelve) months.
Termination of the financing, or completion of the tasks that are the subject of this call determine the expiration of the contract that will operate with the communication referred to in article 345 (1) of the Labor Code in force, meaning that the employer shall notify the termination of the contract to the employee, at least seven, 30 or 60 days in advance, according to whether the contract lasted up to six months, six months to two years, or per longer period.
1. OBJECTIVES | FUNCTIONS
The primary role of this Junior Researcher position is to contribute to research and development activities focused on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to the design of analog, mixed-signal and RF integrated circuits. The work will involve developing and applying AI-based methodologies for circuit synthesis, optimization, and design automation.
The candidate will also contribute to the development, implementation, and validation of computational models and algorithms using circuit simulation and design tools. The work will include the analysis of results, preparation of technical documentation and scientific publications, and dissemination of the research outcomes. Collaboration with the research team and participation in relevant research activities and meetings will also be expected.

5. SALARY | MEAL ALLOWANCE
In compliance with the provisions of the INESC-ID Research Career internal regulations, the remuneration corresponds to a monthly remuneration, 1 393,88 €€(One thousand three hundred ninety-three euros and eighty-eight cents), prior to any deductions or withholdings.
Meal allowance per work day of 6.15€ (six euros and fifteen cents).
6. QUALIFICATIONS
Any national, foreign and stateless candidate(s) holding a MsC degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related area providing an appropriate background for the development of the proposed research activities may submit an application.
Candidates should demonstrate knowledge or experience in electronic circuits, programming, and/or artificial intelligence and machine learning. Familiarity with analog, mixed-signal or RF integrated circuit design and simulation tools will be considered an advantage. Good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment, are required.
The applicants must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, an advanced level of proficiency in Portuguese and proficiency in English, as well as being enthusiastic, proactive, collaborative and able to work individually and with various levels of internal organization.

Each member of the jury assigns a classification to each of the candidates on a scale of 0 to 100 points, ranking the candidates according to their classification consisting on the sum of the partial classifications assigned in each evaluation criterion, and considering the weighting factor given to each parameter. In this process abstentions are not allowed.
Candidates shall be ordered by applying the successive voting method.
The jury has the faculty to not approve a candidate who is not considered on absolute merit.
Candidates with an average score below 70, are not recommended for hiring
Minutes of the evaluation panel meeting are drawn up containing a summary of what has taken place in the meeting, as well as the votes cast by each of the members and their reasons, being available to the candidates whenever requested.
The final deliberation of the evaluation panel must be approved by Executive Board of INESC-ID.

10. COMPLAIN AND APPEAL DEADLINES AND PROCEDURES
Candidates who submit their application incorrectly or who do not prove the requirements required in this public notice are excluded from admission. In case of doubt, the evaluation panel may demand any candidate to present documents proving those statements.
False statements by the candidates will be punished according to the law.
The admitted and excluded candidates will be notified by email of the final ranking list.
Prior Hearing and Deadline for Final Decision: After being notified, candidates have 10 working days to submit a formal rebuttal. Within the term of 30 days, counted from the deadline for the presentation of the candidacies, the final decisions of the evaluation panel are given.
