Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

As Assistant Librarian – Engagement, you will play a key role in enhancing student retention and success through the delivery and coordination of on-campus and online Library services.

You will:

  • Support and implement Library engagement and promotions strategies.
  • Coordinate events and activities and create content for communications channels.
  • Maintain and update website content and monitor analytics.
  • Provide advice and support for students and staff, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate across UC and Library teams to promote resources and services.

Mōu | Who You Are

In this role you will bring:

  • 3–4 years’ experience in library or administration roles within a large organisation, preferably in the tertiary sector.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (NZQA Level 7).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and independently, with initiative.
  • High-level computer literacy and ability to learn new technologies.
  • Experience in supervising staff or volunteers and knowledge of library policies and systems will be highly regarded.
  • An alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.

You will join a collaborative Library team, reporting to the Team Leader Engagement and Learning Support, and working closely with colleagues across UC to deliver exceptional services to students and staff.
