Located in Ōtautahi | Christchurch, Aotearoa | New Zealand
- 4 weeks annual leave +5 days university holidays
- Salary - $70,000 p.a (pro-rated), based on skills and experience
- Fixed-term position till the end of 2027
- Minimum 30 hours per week (hours are negotiable up to 37.5)

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
In this role, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to Kōawa Studios, ensuring the smooth coordination of studio activities, projects, and stakeholder engagement. You will manage bookings, communications, and documentation, while supporting creative and academic initiatives within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Ngā Mahi o ia Rā | Daily Tasks
In addition to core responsibilities, the Office Administrator will carry out a range of daily tasks to ensure the smooth running of the Kōawa Director’s Office and wider Kōawa Studios operations. Examples of typical daily tasks are:
- General administrative tasks are to monitor and respond to emails in shared and individual inboxes and manage the Director’s calendar including anticipating scheduling needs. Greet and assist visitors, students, and industry partners and act as the first point of contact for enquiries. Process purchase orders, P-card transactions, and small daily expenses. Monitor stock levels and place orders for stationery, consumables, and studio supplies as needed.
- In addition to the above, oversea Kōawa studio bookings and room allocations, ensuring smooth turnover between sessions. Support staff and students with access, equipment checkouts, and troubleshooting minor technical issues. Monitor Kōawa Studios’ social media channels for messages, engagement, and content opportunities. Update website content or event listings as required.
Mōu | Who You Are
You are a proactive and personable administrator who enjoys supporting creative environments and working with diverse stakeholders. You will be able to demonstrate experience in:
- Minimum of 5 years administrative experience in a medium – large screen production, media organisation or similar.
- Experience dealing with accounts processing.
- Demonstrated experience managing schedules, bookings, or events.
- Experience in media, advertising, or event production.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Experience working independently in a front-facing role.
- An alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
