Position description

The Fred T. Korematsu Center for Law and Equality at UC Irvine School of Law offers a postdoctoral scholar position to support the research and professional development of a candidate pursuing a career in law teaching. This is a two-year postdoc scholar position that will begin in Summer 2026. Postdoctoral scholars are required to be in residence in Irvine with a commitment to participating fully in the life of the law school. During the first year, the postdoc will focus primarily on scholarship. During the second year, the postdoc is expected to go on the law school teaching market. Though the postdoc will not have primary responsibility in teaching a class, the postdoc will gain teaching experience by periodically attending classes and through occasional guest teaching.

This position is formally categorized as a postdoctoral scholar within the UC Irvine system.

Required: Note that the University of California limits the total duration of an individual's postdoctoral service to five years, including postdoctoral service at other institutions.
